April 21, 2026 BetaA redesigned Home tab on iPhone, a much smarter Stuff Scout, a new Recreation category for boats and RVs, and dozens of fixes that protect your data.
Highlight
A redesigned Home tab with Three Phases -- The iPhone Home tab is now organized around how you actually use your stuff: Acquire, Maintain, and Move On. The right tools are in reach at the right moment.
New
- Home Tab: Three Phases -- A reorganized iPhone Home tab with sections for acquiring new things, maintaining what you own, and moving things on when you're ready
- Borrowed & Lent entry point -- A dedicated way to see what you've lent out and what you've borrowed, right from the Home tab
- Recreation category -- Track boats, RVs, ATVs, and other recreational vehicles as a first-class category
- Scout: "Is this right?" -- After every scan, Scout asks you to confirm, add more context, or try again. No more accepting a wrong answer because the app stopped asking.
- Scout: Tell your story first -- Describe what you know in plain language ("This belonged to my grandfather, might be from the 1940s"). Structured fields are optional extras.
- Scout takes your notes seriously -- but not at face value -- Specific facts get verified against the photo. Speculative guesses are treated as hypotheses to investigate, not facts to accept.
- Scout: The right marketplace for the item -- Price verification goes to the places that actually sell your kind of item. Instruments check Reverb. Collectibles check eBay.
- Scout: Where to learn more -- Scout suggests specific forums, reference sites, and YouTube channels for the kind of item you're looking at.
- Scout: See what each round added -- A history of how your added details improved the identification and valuation.
- Activity Timeline on Mac -- A new card on the Mac Dashboard showing your recent activity at a glance.
- Item thumbnails in Legacy Wishes -- The items you're passing along are now pictured when you create a wish.
- Tappable "--" fields -- Blank fields in the Item detail now invite you to fill them in instead of just showing a dash.
- Coverage warnings -- When an item's replacement cost has grown stale, Stuffolio tells you -- so you're not under-insured without realizing.
- Donation documentation prompts -- For donations above the IRS documentation threshold, Stuffolio prompts for the details the IRS will want.
Improvements
- A cleaner Item detail view -- Facts like serial numbers and purchase dates appear as quick, scannable rows. Status cards (warranty, recalls) stay prominent for the things you actually need to notice.
- Clearer warranty tracking -- A new progress bar, coverage-phase hints, a redesigned support section, and clearer price labels.
- Easier maintenance setup -- The setup sheet is redesigned and the category selection bug is fixed.
- More accurate Price Watch -- Baselines no longer drift. Scout valuations now flow to Price Watch reliably.
- Prices in your local format -- The Add and Edit forms now format prices the way your region does.
- Dashboard stat cards easier to tell apart -- Adjacent stats no longer share the same color.
- Accessibility improvements -- Better color contrast throughout, graceful handling of very long text, and respect for "Reduce Transparency."
- Unsaved notes are protected -- Dismissing the notes editor with unsaved changes now prompts you to confirm.
- "Clear all notifications" asks first -- A confirmation prompt before wiping your notification list.
Bug Fixes
- Hidden fields now appear -- Several fields that you could fill in during Add or Edit but never saw on the Item detail page are now visible.
- Tapping an item on iPhone opens it -- In gallery and card layouts, tapping an item now reliably takes you to its detail view.
- Rotating during a Scout scan is safe -- Scout no longer dismisses when you rotate your iPhone.
- Scout history loads completely -- Past scans now recall their full results, including all text sections and share text.
- Scout recognizes maker's marks -- A parsing issue with maker's marks is fixed. Sort order restored. Vehicle valuations improved.
- Legacy Wishes is more reliable -- A crash when viewing shared Legacy data is fixed. When sync fails, you'll see a clear error instead of silence.
- Beneficiary form protects your work -- If you close the form with unsaved recipient fields, you're now prompted to confirm.
- Form drafts keep all your fields -- Room, condition, quantity, and how-you-got-it now all save in a draft.
- CSV import doesn't freeze the app -- Import runs in the background with progress and a cancel button. Seller names import in their consistent form.
- Safer backups -- A backup restore crash is fixed. Conflict resolution no longer loses your data. Donated items with attached files delete cleanly.
- No more freeze on the Item detail -- A freeze and crash that some users saw on their iPhone is resolved. Launch feels faster.
- macOS notes sheet no longer flickers.
